| So here is a juicy tid bit for you ladies out there. I went out with guy from work last night. A real live date. He opened the door, paid for dinner, and I am pretty sure he wanted to kiss me good night but I have a nasty cough so that wasn't going to happen. Though I dont know that there is any real future since he is oh.... 8 years younger than me, it was nice to go on a proper date. | | |
| Hello Friends, I'll skip the apologies for not posting in a long time. You all know me well enought to know that I just don't write very much, and I am blessed with friends who love me anyway. So I have a really great class this year. For the most part everyone gets along fairly well. I don't have any studnets that just do things to make you crazy or just to buck the system. I am really blessed. Of course I wish I could fix all their problems with the wave of my wand. My heart aches for some of them. One family is going through a divorce and other family has a dad that has been ordered by the court to leave the family. There are more stories to brake your heart but that's enough for now. They're such good kids. Their little hearts should not have to be so guarded at such a young age. Lately, I have been thinking about a career change. I would really enjoy a higer pay but at the same time summers off is a big deal! The medical field has some interesting aspects but I would have to go back to school and work year round.... many thoughts swimming in my head. Speaking of swimming there is a school in the Bahamas that is looking for teachers.... I decorated my apartment for Christmas. For pics go to my facebook page. I love Christmas, perhaps more after been overseas for several of them. | | |
| 6 Phases of Teaching Phase 1
You are listening to jazz -- Your first day at work is great. Your fellow teachers are wonderful, your classroom is cute, you love your students, and your principal is the best!
Phase 2 You are listening to pop music -- After a while, maybe by the end of September, you are so busy that you are not sure if you're coming or going anymore.
Phase 3 You are listening to heavy metal -- This is what you feel like after TWO months.
Phase 4 You are listening to hip hop – Come late January early February, you become bloated due to stress, you're gaining weight due to lack of exercise because you are so tired and have so much school work to do when you get home, you feel sluggish and suffer from constipation. Your fellow teachers are too cheerful for your liking and the walls of your classroom are closing in. You have started thinking 'WHATEVER' about your administration.
Phase 5 You are listening to GANGSTA RAP -- After more time passes and April hits, your eyes start to twitch, you forget what a 'good hair day' feels like as you just fall out of bed and load up on caffeine.
Phase 6 You are listening to the voices in your head – By May, you have to lock your classroom door to keep people out, You wonder WHY you are even here in the first place and WHAT was I thinking becoming a teacher! |
